Here is a book cover that I did for Random House on a fun story by Chris Grabenstein entitled Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library. I was asked to create a wrap around game board with game pieces and silhouettes of characters that related to the story. After reading the book and brainstorming how a library game might come to exist,I played around with several directions:

I have a couple of ways of illustrating concepts through painting and vectors, and decided to combine techniques and use my graphic design skills from working part time creating educational toys for Galison/ Mudpuppy before 2007 to create the game board. The result was part graphic design, part flat vector game board, and part “dimensional” with game pieces that sit on top of the game board.I also used a book pattern for the flaps that helped to tie the librarian game design with books. The book will be released June 15th, 2013.
